Trekkies Bash New Star Trek Film As 'Fun, Watchable'

This new Star Trek movie elevates the tired, old franchise into something that's not just fun for a handful of nit-picky fanboys. It is just plain good fun, and great performances by all the actors.

I will say that the fact that they used time travel AGAIN got on my nerves for a second, but I ended up being okay with it when the writers used it as an opportunity to shout loud and clear to all Trekkies out there:

THIS IS AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, SO IT'S NOT GOING TO CONNECT WITH PREVIOUS STAR TREK STORYLINES AND IT DOES NOT HAVE TO.

I'm cool with it. Good times. 4.5 out of 5 on the Poop Scale
