Congratulations America

I meant to write this yesterday, but my internet was down. So here we go.

Four years ago, on election night. I posted a picture of myself flipping the bird. I went to bed very upset. I had cried a little. I was also a little drunk.

This time around I went to sleep a little drunk with excitement. I welled up with tears a couple times, but they were tears of joy.

Now I finally feel like most Americans out there learned their lesson. Who knows why they didn't learn it ater Bush's first term, I sure don't.

My home state, Arizona, learned nothing of course. Oh well, what can you expect of them, really? We also voted in 102 (ban on gay marriage) Joe Arpaio (our asshole sheriff) and Andrew Thomas (county attorney and perpetrator of general douchebaggery).

This election also taught me a valuable lesson. Never ever go to Idaho. Ever.

Seriously, I don't know what the final poll numbers were, but I swear I remember the count being something like 77% for McCain when I went to bed on Tuesday night. I would later find out that Idaho has not backed a democrat since 1964. Yikes.

If I was a silly person, I might suggest a potato boycott. But I'm not. Mmmmm. Potatoes.
