A Brief briefing
I'm here. I'm having a blast. My previous bad attitude was just early homesickness. I'm over it now and loving life. I love these people... well, most of them. I wish I could take some of them home in September.
That's about all for now. The library is my only internet access and it's a half hour away from the mountain I am living on. Breaks are few and far between in our fourteen hour days, so I probably won't be back for about another week. That's when we open.
I am the "general indian" understudy, which means they trust me enough to memorize every other godd*mn indian role in the show, just in case. It means more work, but it also means more money.
I'm also in the "Hawk run." There's a badass war dance halfway through the show. During this dance seven indians take seven tomahawks and run across the stage at The WarPole and chunk them into it while running by. It is such a rush! We get all charged up and ready to kill some Shemenese (Shawnee word translating to "long knife" or sword, meaning white men). Too bad for us that history says the Shemenese slaughter us. Oh well. We can dream.
I am riding horses bareback, firing guns, doing fight choreography, getting ripped out and working on my tan, AND the best part of all is somebody is actually PAYING me to do it.
Fvck yeah.
