Just finished up one of the least productive sessions EVER with Ryan and Nick. Sometimes the music just flows out of us, quite literally! Sometimes we have this magical chemistry that makes us thank god we laid down a track on MiniDisc, because without a record of the event, we would have no idea how to recreate the wonderful thing that just happened.

Tonight we never even bothered with the MD.

Not that it's anyone's fault, sometimes it's just not happening. We've had nights like that before. The worst part is the mental game. Just like in anything in life, as soon as you get a little discouraged that's when you psych yourself out, and it's all over after that. I think that happened right when we started tonight. I was very excited, as usual when we practice, and then... tthhbbpptt!

Oh well. We had a good time anyway. David was in and out of the session doing his David thing. I felt bad for him. I wanted to make sure he was having a good time, but then I also wanted to make music. In the end, I'm not sure if either happened. Meh. I'm still in a good mood somehow. Weird. I usually end up frustrated after one of these nights.

Off to bed to read historical fiction about King Arthur. Awe, yeah. Little Arthur is about five years old now. He's a little terror for his guardians. Want to know more? Visit your public library and search for Jack Whyte: The Skystone.
