Aliens, Cliches and Squibs, OH MY!
This one time I was in this movie. Just in case someone involved with the project happens to find there way here on a googling of the title I will not name it, but you can read about it here on THE IMDB.
I was just wondering to myself if that thing ever managed to hit DVD, so I searched the name. I was surprised to find out that the IMDB entry had been updated. Some astute reader wrote up a little review. I urge you to take the above link and scroll down to the bottom and read it. Seeing as how I am a professional, I will not speak ill of this project, but nor will I lie to you either. Rather, I will say nothing and allow the review to speak for itself.
My favorite part is when he says that the script "undermined" the actors. He recognizes talent when he sees it. Good man!
There is one thing that confuses me though. The movie has yet to see the light of day, except for those that worked on it and a handful of friends and family, so who wrote this exquisite disembowling? I mean this guy even noticed that the Secretary of Defense is wearing a Looney Tunes tie. I saw the damn scene being shot and on the big screen and I never noticed that.
Oh, and in case you are wondering about this post's title; a squib is a small explosive which is generally used to create the effect of a bullet striking a person or thing. Example sentence: This film could have used a squib or two to enhance the scenes involving gunfire.
Also, I managed to accidentally find my entry on what appears to be the eastern european answer to the IMDB. Check it out HERE. Funny to see my name surrounded by a foreign alphabet. The string of characters above my picture is actually my name as it appears on the entry for the film itself. Anyone know how you pronounce that? I mean, does anyone know how to pronounce that and have a working knowledge of the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) so you can write it out for me?
